As a church family we want to encourage one another in our journey
through life. We accept one another with unconditional love, challenging
each other to grow in Christ-like love, godliness, and maturity. This is
currently done through:
(1)
Our
Sunday meetings
which are geared to meet the diverse needs of the church family.
(2)
Our
Bible Care Groups
(BCG) which
provide
opportunities for studying the Bible and for companionship, forming a
strategic part of the church’s care for the individual.
(3)
Our
Fellowship groups,
beginning with crèche,
through to seniors and all stages in between.
(4)
The
Heathdene Preschool
which is well established and respected; providing a quality service to
the community with empathy and compassion.
(5)
Our
Community Involvement
by means of various individual and group activities.
The history of
Heathcote
Engadine Baptist Church;
established in 1960 with 17 foundation members in a new, young
community. The church today has over 150 members, and around 250 people
attending at least one of the
Sunday meetings.
The Shire
forms the southern coastal boarder of
Sydney,
and is bounded by the waterways of the south coast’s
Hacking
River, Georges River and the Royal National Park. The Shire currently
has a population of over 215,000 (ABS LGA Population Projections 2003)
and occupies an area of 370 sq. km. Generally our congregation draws
from the 2233 postcode (Heathcote, Engadine, Waterfall, Woronora
Heights, Yarrawarrah) but a significant number travel up to 30 minutes from other
parts of the shire (Sutherland, Loftus, Cronulla, Menai and Sylvania
Waters).
Heathcote
Engadine Baptist Church
is
affiliated with the Association of Baptist Churches (NSW & ACT).
